Valentino Garbarino Earns Formula Pro USA F4 Championship While F3 Title Will Go Down to the Final Weekend of Racing

The first of two Formula Pro USA Presented by Exclusive Racing champions was decided this past weekend as Valentino Garbarino wrote his name into the record books. Graduating from karting to open wheel racing, Garbarino has been the class of the F4 field in 2024 and capped off his championship performance with a perfect weekend that included a new track record.

“A huge congrats to Valentino and the World Speed Motorsports program for an awesome season and wrapping up the title with two races still remaining,” explained BD Morgan. “Valentino has been steadily improving throughout the season and showed us that he has what it takes to compete on the national level, sweeping the weekend in Sonoma.”

Taking place at the Sonoma Raceway, Garbarino was unchallenged as he secured two race wins, scored bonus points in both races for the fastest race lap, and secured a new track record.  Valentino set new Official F4 Track Race Record during Saturday’s Race with a lap time of 1:37.756 and improved on that Sunday when he qualified at a blistering pace of 1:37.093. Dominating the weekend, Garbarino beat Jensen Global Advisors driver Athan Sterling, who finished second both days.

The Formula Pro USA F3 Championship will go down to the final event weekend as current point leader Landan Matriano Lim was absent from the weekend, opening the door for others. Gaining thirty-eight points on Lim was Jay Horak, who currently sits second in the championship. Courtesy of a pair of second-place results and two bonus points for the fastest race lap in Saturday’s wheel-to-wheel action, Horak sits just thirty-five markers in arrears of Lim. With only one event remaining and a maximum of fifty-four points up for grabs at the final event in November, it is still either driver’s championship to win.

While Horak and his World Speed Motorsports entry finished second both days, Jake Pollack and Jensen Global Advisors took a pair of wins in Sonoma. Climbing to the podium’s top step in race one, Pollack repeated his performance on Sunday, scoring the fastest race lap in his double-win weekend. Horak crossed the line second both days, with World Speed Motorsports driver Frank Vezer coming home with a pair of third-place results.

Morgan added, “The F3 Championship will come down to the final two races of the season, and we can’t wait to see how it ends.”

With some time off between now and the final two wheel-to-wheel races in 2024, Formula Pro USA officials have already begun to look ahead to the 2025 season. Stay tuned for more details soon.
