Landon Matriano Lim Secures Formula Pro USA Presented by Exclusive Racing F3 Championship
Nov 19, 2024 | News
It was one last dance for the Formula Pro USA Presented by Exclusive Racing competitors this past weekend, as Buttonwillow Raceway hosted the final round of the 2024 season. With Valentino Garbarino already securing the F4 championship, it was all still to play out in F3. When the final checkered flag flew, Landan Matriano Lim reigned supreme as the newly crowned F3 champ.
Leading the way into round eleven of the Formula Pro USA F3 Championship was Matriano Lim. Choosing to skip Sunday’s wheel-to-wheel racing after Saturday’s victory and fastest race lap, Matriano Lim secured the title by 32 points over his closest rival. Barrett Wolfe made it a one-two for the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport outfit by coming home second and celebrating on the podium with the newly crowned champion, while Jay Horak beat James Lawley for the third position.
Sunday saw drivers in the F3 category return for the final race of the season and with Matriano Lim on the sidelines, the door was opened for others. Lawley managed to drive to the win, his first of the season, on route to the fastest race lap to score maximum points on the day. Wolfe earned his second podium result in as many days with another second-place finish, while Horak rounded out the podium in third and solidified his position as Vice-Champion in F3 for the 2024 season.
With the Formula Pro USA F4 Championship already secured before the final event weekend, World Speed Motorsports driver and 2024 champ Valentino Garbarino put a stamp of authority on his season. Scoring both victories over the weekend and the fastest laps each day, Garbarino scored maximum points and padded his overall points spread by a healthy margin. With the rest of the drivers left to battle for podium positions behind him, Jensen Global Advisors entry Athan Sterling finished second on Saturday before repeating his performance on Sunday. Vice-Champion in F4 Alexander Cornfield added another podium to his resume with a P3 result Saturday, beating Jensen Global Advisors Robert Krayevsky. Krayevsky rebounded Sunday to stand on the podium in third and close out the 2024 season.
