This past weekend, the Formula Pro USA Western Championship Presented by Exclusive Racing completed Rounds 5 & 6 of their 2024 season at the famed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Landon Matriano Lim earned a pair of wins in the Formula Pro USA F3 class while Valentino Garbarino and Alexander Cornfield split the honors in F4 as the series and drivers shift their focus to the next event as they return to Laguna Seca in July.

Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport’s Matriano Lim was the dominant driver all weekend long earning a pair of race wins, and the bonus points in both Saturday and Sunday’s wheel-to-wheel races by scoring the fastest laps of the race. Not only did Matriano Lim score the wins, he also set a new SCCA track record for the class with a 1:23:425 during Sunday’s race! Left to battle behind him, World Speed Motorsports Jay Horak earned two second-place results, while Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport and Jonathan Collins rounded out the podium in P3 on both days. Courtesy of his weekend double, Matriano Lim leads the point standings by 52 points over Horak with six races to go.

On the F4 side of the program it was World Speed Motorsports who scored the double win with two different drivers. Taking top honors on Saturday was Alexander Cornfield while Valentino Garbarino finished second but earned two bonus points for the fastest race lap. The duo would swap positions on Sunday with Garbarino taking the win and the accompanying two bonus points for the fastest race lap. Garbarino leaves Laguna Seca with a 47 point lead in the F4 championship battle.

“We are now midway through the 2024 season and the championships have opened up a little,” expressed BD Morgan. “We have six races remaining over three weekends and are looking to finish the year strong. We are back at Laguna Seca in a month and look forward to seeing everyone again.”
